What is a limerick?

This, I was recently asked, and so here was my answer:

A poem of five lines, every time
The first two of which always rhyme
The third is short
The fourth stays tart
And the fifth repeats the rhyme

Blimey, why does everyone ask that. 100% my gray cells, composed in less than 10 minutes.

Goodbye, cruel, unbelieving world.
