Demographic problems

I'm sure my wise readers are up to speed on the aging Japanese population, low birth rates and refusal to allow immigration resulting in a "dying society" outlook.

I don't think you need any of that to know a society is dying. I think this is clear when you see grown men on the 4th floor (1st being comics, 2nd DVD/CD and 3rd something else) of a comics/manga/anime store browsing dolls - DOLLS!! - of female (of course) anime characters, made with all the exquisite craftsmanship that modern day machines offer and whose anatomical proportions, while admirable, are impossible.

Men browsing for dolls - not any dolls, but dolls representing pornographic pre-pubescent comic book girls. Now that is not a good sign. It reminds me of South Park Episode 118. But, even as I failed in my quest to find the elusive vending machines that dispense soiled undergarments, this convinced me that there is enough weirdness in the country as it is.
