Mission: Belgian Beer

I am pleased to report that there is an excellent option in Hong Kong for lovers of true beers. On the second floor of 74 Queens Road in Central, Hong Kong, there exists a scene for tired business travelers. Tired business travelers who like beer, at any rate.

Frites serves the range of Abbey ales and Trappist brews. After my disastrous encounters with Belgian beer in various parts of the world, this time I took care to order the ones that were only *twice* as strong as the regular piss-in-a-bottle lagers. To their credit, the Buds and Carlsbergs have the redeeming feature of pretty women in bikinis in their ads. The thought of fat abbots in bikinis, you would agree, is slightly unsettling.

But that may be exactly the way to induce the need for libation...
