Not only was he an inhuman monster, he was, as expected, a coward. What happened to the famous cyanide pills he made a legion of followers swallow? What about strapping a bomb and making a lost hurrah of it? No, he was just trying to flee like a common criminal.
Remember people - every prophet is false. This guy is no exception.
I hope the Tamils condemn him vocally, and get on a process of reconciliation with the Sri Lankan government. As it is, it is hard not to wonder how he held sway for as long as he did without implicit support, the same suspicion - however right or wrong - as people have with Islamist fundamentalists in certain countries.
This is not a bad Monday, after all.
