I am ashamed to say that the first app I downloaded for the iPhone was FB. For good reason - it was free, my account took a coupla days to resurrect for technical reasons and I really wanted to know what an "app" was but did not want to get something embarassing like the one that whistles at pretty women.
Anyway, next up, I downloaded the game called "Bumpoid". Without reading instructions, I started playing and have since been playing and playing. This is a bloody addictive game for occasions where you just want to kill time - such as in the office (particularly during conference calls), the cockpit of a large commercial airplane over the Hudson, hiking (of any sort) and the sort of boring sex that comes with familiarity (break up today!!).
Anyway this post began as a plug for the game, whose misanthropic creator is a good friend. But now it is seriously becoming an addiction. This is in the first place why I've assiduously avoided games of any sort.
Now I am off to discover the world of "podcasts" (it is true - I don't even know what that is) and what I hear are very useful apps. Like the one that says in your wife's voice when you get lost driving alone - "I told you to ask!!".
